Saving zip files to bare drive C:/ ONLY.?

Hi,

I ve got this annoying horse racing software that requires me to download some updates to the bare drive c:/ ONLY. I've gone into firefox and changed my download options so its 'save to...' but when i try and do it to bare C:/ it says that 'this location is forbidden to download to. contact admin' or along those lines.



I have the admin password but the option to put it in isn't coming up. The whole thing was set up by my uncle who does PC set-up for corporate businesses and that must be why his put this password heavy admin system in, he just did it the way he usually does but its completely unnecessary on a home PC.



So i need to save these zip files to bare drive C:/ only or it won't work. How can i do it? Is the system blocking me or am i just going about it wrong?

It could be a requirement of the software - I hate software too stupid to use alternate locations or com ports above 2 - or it could be a permissions problem. You don't say what OS you have, but if it is Vista I would suspect permissions first. With XP I would lean toward the software.Saving zip files to bare drive C:/ ONLY.?
not sure about this but you cant download and unzip a folder on the c drive....the c drive is programs that are installed on, i really think someone is trying to screw up your comp

Computer Geeks!! HELP with Microsoft Office Download pleaasse! I'm useless. :(?

My laptop came with the Trial version of Microsoft Office and I found a youtube video telling me how to change it into the full version without paying.. I can't exactly remember the exact steps however..



Anyway for a few weeks it worked perfectly fine, but just yesterday and today as well, it is completely disabled. I have tried re-installing the trial version again, but this message comes up during setup:



';Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. Run setup again from the original source disc or download location';



Does anyone know how I can resolve this??

Is there a way??!

I've downloaded it for my girlfriend like 4 times lol you have to make sure you completely uninstall the old trial first then redownload it and have the new product key...but everyone else is right it would be a way better idea just to get open office im pretty sure that you can open office documents in it and but i dont think the other way around but its free so thats goodComputer Geeks!! Try Open Office. It's a free alternative that works just as well (if not better) and allows you to save files as the same file extension.

Problems with managing music with URGE download software?

Just move the non licensed music to a different directory, or into a subfolder. With licensed music its best to leave it at the default directory.

You can use VLC Player to play the MPEG-4 Media Files. But YouTube videos are found in the Flash Video format. So it's a mystery how you found these Videos in the MPEG-4 Format!



Well, ';File'; is not any File Format. I think Part 3 may have been Corrupted. Try downloading it again to see whether you get a video with a specific File Format.



Now, as to a good Converting Software. The Top Rated one is AVS Video Converter. It can Convert into almost all Video Formats. But this is a Paid Software. You can only use for a specific period, unless, of course, you buy it. But it is worth the cost!

I went to Add or Remove Programs to uninstall it, but whenever I click the Remove -or change- button this box comes up : ';Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or unavailable. Run setup again from the original source disk or download location.';

A month ago I followed a guide that deleted something on the registry editor that was supposedly meant to activate Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 without buying the product. It worked fine for a month, but then one day the whole thing got disabled like a normal trial product expiring. And now I can't activate it, and I can't uninstall it. It's working exactly as it's supposed to. It de-activates after 30 days if you haven't activated it with Microsoft. That's their anti-theft protection.

Man just put the Microshof Office CD in the CD room and dialog box will be appeare that the contents are as follow:



1. Install: if you want to install a fresh copy of Microsoft Office

2. Uninstall: if you want to uninstall the Microsoft office from you computer.

3. Repair: it means if there are some corrupted files or suddendly deleted it will repair that.

My hidden torrents are being found/accessed. I clear the player/download history but they are still found how?

I download the torrent, watch the torrent, rename the torrent and change the file type to something completely obscure (been doing this recently and it seems to be working) then finally hide it. I also clear the download and real player history, and move the files out of the designated download location. oh and I uncheck the little archive box so, theres that. wtf man? I dont wanna be paranoid no mo...the pr0n/movies I download can potentially be damaging, and I dont want them found anymore I know theyre being found because I see in the real player viewing history that theyve been watched or theyre altogether deleted in a greedy attempt to horde niggabytes. My guess is this person has figured out how to reveal hidden files, then they search the c drive for wmvs or avis or mpgs and shazzam theyre all there. But I dont know, I just dont want my stuff found period its an INVASION so anyway how do I make it stop daddy? Halp...:'(My hidden torrents are being found/accessed. Fix that 1st. Can't fix it? Then your living under someone elses rules which you should abide by.

Hey i have a question on limewire. Does anyone know how to Change the location of the downloaded files. Like I want to change the file that says ';shared'; from drive ';C'; to drive ';F'; how can i do that? please help !!!!Limewire Question?
It looks like it is possible to change where your downloaded files go to in Limewire.



I looked at the Limewire FAQ and User Guide and I found the following statements in the Library section of the User Guide:



The Shared Files folder is located in the folder list at left. Click on Shared Files to show all folders currently being shared. To set your Sharing Options, go to Tools %26gt; Options %26gt; Sharing.



Please note that by default, Saved Files are included in Shared Files. To add a folder to the list of Shared Files, right-click on a folder and select ';Share New Folder'; from the right-click menu. To stop sharing an individual file in a shared folder, right-click on that file, and select ';Stop Sharing File.';Limewire Question?
