How to change the position of a drive?

Recently, my external hard drive changed from being the G: drive to being the I: drive. Because I have a lot of links and downloads going to locations on the external hard drive, it'd be a lot easier to change its name back to G: rather than switch all those to I:

Right click on computer and click ';manage';.

then select ';disk managent'; from there.

then right click on the partition which u want to change the letter and select ';change drive letters and paths'; and click ';change';button in there and type ur drive letter...ITS DONE

You can change the drive letter or designator in Disk Management.



Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tool/Computer Management. In the Left pane, click Storage and then ';Disk Management. In the lower pane, choose the drive that you wish to change and right click. Click Change driver letter and path.



You may need to do a little drive letter changing, ie, if the letter that you wish to use is already in use, just change that drive to something like ';X'; and the change it back when you have the correct letter assigned to the correct drives.

Yes. Usually done by having the one click avtivate a js file on the server, or one downloaded with the page
If your link is:

You can change it to:

a href=';somePage.html'; onclick=';window.open(thePopUpFileName);'; link text /a

Remove the ';return false;'; and put the pop up link in paranthesis of the window.open() method. That should work.



Additionally you might try an add event script, instead of an inline event handler. That is a more scalable way to doing this.

Cant find and delete files?

i have just downloaded shaiya and now i cant find the files and im low on memory. i tried searching for it and i cant find it. this is the second time this has happened. its taking up alot of memory on my computer and i need to know how to find it, the name of the files would be nice. i couldnt change the location where i downloaded it because it automatically choose my c drive.Cant find and delete files?

If you downloaded by FireFox it is very simple. Go to Options and you will see Download directory immediately.



In Internet explorer it usually saves files to C:\users\your name\downloads unless you changed it

Im trying to dowload a movie from iTunes, but I don't want it to be downloaded into my disk C but my disk D.

Your probably on a laptop and the D drive is for the system backup and that drive cannot have anything saved onto it or deleted. You need to make space on your C drive if you want to save it.

You could always buy an external hard drive if you do not want to delete files to make room.

How do i synchronize my internal and external hard drive?

I've just bought an external hard drive. Would like to use it as a back up. I've downloaded SyncBack Freeware, as i had been recommended to do so. Call me stupid, i thought i just pick C-driver as source and E as destination. But i got a warning I shouldn't back up my system drive. Can somebody tell me how to do it instead. I want all my files on the external HD and want to make sure if i change anything later on my laptop it would be saved on the external drive. How does it work? What are profiles for and which one should i choose. Shall I make a back up profile first and synchronizing profile after or no need for both? How does synchronizing work, if i change the location of a file, will it change it on the external drive, or will it just copy to the location as well? the first question is WHY

synchronizing all of your C into E is pointless, in the sense that if C crashes, your external hard disk E cannot take over.



you should only synchronize your DATA, not your programs.

Use Syncback and point to the folders that contain the files you actually use and change, such as the MY DOCUMENTS folder.How do i synchronize my internal and external hard drive?

How do I change the drive letter that is associated with my external hard drive?

When I first started using it the drive letter was F: and everything worked fine. I had to download some info onto a coworker's thumb drive and that's when it changed. I plugged his thumb drive in before I plugged my external hard drive in and every since the drive letter is G:. Every program I installed on the external hard drive has the location of F: so as a result if I click on the short cut it cannot find the program. Did you try taking out the hardrive and putting it back in/ reattaching it?
Well somehow your drive name in computer has changed.Now do onething when ever you try to run program whic earlier was instaled in f drive will search for f drive now window will show you to search manually then give window a path from browse option and it will run as usual.

How to change read-only folder attribute?

I'm trying to download a torrent with uTorrent and get a ';Torrent Error - Access is denied'; pop-up. No indexing program is running and this problem has never before occurred with my avast anti-virus on. Ports are properly forwarded etc.



When I check the properties for the download folder I find it is set to read-only. Unchecking the read-only box doesn't work because if I close options and reopen it is checked again.



I have checked if any other application had a lock on the file (with unlocker) but none does.



I have created the download folder in My Documents which is located on a separate partition from windows and I have moved it there by right clicking on the My Documents icon and under properties changing the location.
