Megamanager deletion?
I deleted megamanager/megaupload because it was really annoying software... However, now whenever I want to download something, the window says it can't because ';Megamanager could not be found at this specific location'; (because I deleted it!)... How do I change the computer settings so that my download options aren't toward Megamanager?Megamanager deletion?
You did a dirty removal and consequently there are still elements of the program lying around.
There is probably something in your registry that poits to megamanager.
Download CCleaner and click on the Issues button and run a scan. Hopefully it will identify megamanager as an obsolete key and remove it.

Help, have saved a file in an unknown location. I think it may be in a temporary file, how can i retrieve it?
I have a regular windows laptop, i just downloaded a file off my email account that i sent to myself as an attachment, i made some very important edits and changes and then hit save and shut the file down without saving it to my laptop specifically. On the start icon go to search and type in the name of the file, you should be able to find it that way!

How can I get ''Service Provider's'' Logo on my mobile? I have 'Swastik' symbol in place of Original Logo.
In mobile, once a special logo was downloaded. That logo appeared on the screen in place of the Logo of Service Provider. Now I want to regain the original logo. How can I get the original logo? I have a new external hard drive. I transfered all my music to the drive. All my music got deleted?
What happened? I arranged it so that all the music from Limewire that was downloaded would transfer into the external hard drive folder to be saved. That worked fine. Then I realized that because I changed the location of where my music is stored iTunes would not play any of the songs in it's library. The message on iTunes said ';song file could not be found'; with an exclamation point before the song. So I when online and tried what some forum suggested: Hold the [SHIFT] key down while opening iTunes. A box opened asking where I want to open an existing library or create a new one. At first I tried opening an existing library and it did not work. Then I created a new one, and ALL my songs from the old library disappeared. It was like downloading iTunes on to my computer for the first time. And I still can't figure out how to open the old library again because when I do, an empty iTunes opens up again. My Limewire is like it's starting from scratch too. I do not know what to do. I hate about 4000 songs in my library that I've managed to get over a few years now. Please Help! I don't want to lose them all.
PS.: I also cleaned out my My Documents folder, deleting a few random files that I thought were not necessary. Do you think I must have deleted a file that was part of Limewire that installs itself into the My Documents folder? I have a new external hard drive. I transfered all my music to the drive. Ensure your computer and external hdd are NTFS file format.I have a new external hard drive. I transfered all my music to the drive. All my music got deleted?
Turn off and unplug the external,Click start%26gt;all programs%26gt;accessories%26gt;system tools%26gt;system restore.Go back a few days and your songs should come back.Just a little hint,when transferring files like that,choose copy instead of move until you make sure everything has worked ok,then you can delete the original files.

If you chase them down you will probably lose a good amount of blood, but hunters carry a lot of coins.
When you get coins it is best to deposit them into a bank for safekeeping. These coins are used to buy powers and items (such as scrolls, potions and weapons). Once you have enough coin (and in some cases blood) saved you can begin questing. Quests are available at guild locations.

Installation problems with HP5 computer game..?
So my sister asked me to install this new game for her so I went through all of the steps until it says 'Which type of user are you?' and it gives two options. The first one being 'typical user' and the option to download the cd to the c drive, so that's what I click and it responds with, 'there is not enough space available on drive to install game, please free up some space or change the target location to a different disk.' How do i stop people from uploading of me on eMule?
I have changed the settings to that it does not allow people to upload much at a time but its still very bad because i break my upload limit. So this is my first Mac and everything is completely new to me :[ . Meaning I have dozens of questions that must be the simplest things for regular Mac users *sigh*
1. How do I insert a disk? I assume that the front is suppose to be facing me. And I thought that if I slightly put it in, it will automatically take it. But I put it in more than half way and the Mac didn't seem to respond.
2. How do I change my homepage? I downloaded Mozilla Firefox thinking using the internet would be the same but at the top, it's still in Mac form. Meaning I don't see my bookmark tab, I don't see my options, etc. I would like to open the browser and have the homepage be a page that I want but I couldn't figure out how to customize that. I don't see any sort of Preferences or Options tab.
3. Is there a folder or location somewhere on my iMac that I can find all the programs I have downloaded? Or somewhere that they usually automatically download to? Like how Windows has Program Files

Hi, no problem, just slide the disk into your imac from the side. If the cd doesn't play on its own then just open finder and choose your cd rom.
When u use Safari on top will be the menu bar, click on the safari on the menu bar and there should be a preferences link there to change settings. Firefox should be similar but I am sorry I don't use it on my mac, only on linux.
When u usually download a file using safari it goes in to your download folder in your home directory. Alright so u r in finder right then u should have an applications section where all your programs go.
When u download a program its in .dmg form, just drag it into the applications folder and thats it u have installed it. When u want to remove a program just drag it into the trash can.
If u want to put application links on the dock just drag the application from the application folder to your dock, simple as that.

Why has my windows media player quit working?

I was downloading something, and I realized I didn't need it, so I tried to delete it, but it won't let me. It says the file is no longer located in C:\Users/*my name*\Downloads, which is where the computer says it is. I can't get anything to delete this, and I can't move it, rename it, nothing. there should be an option in your browser that tells you where to store the downloads. For example, in Firefox, it is under the MAIN tab...it says to put downloads on my My Documents folder. Considering you got this computer from your Dad's company, you should think about having it reformated. A lot of the reasons you might be having these problems is because a computer (when used by a company for example) is set up to have certain features allowed and not allowed. Granted, Im not a tech by any means but I can tell you that I have been in this situation EXACTLY before. And the only way that I could get this fixed was to reformat the harddrive itself. And the only way to do that is to have the original software of Windows that was used before. If there is another way to fix this, I pray you find it because its not hard to do a reformat but its a pain nonetheless.
Now about your saving to a new spot, thats something you might try first and foremost. . .
When you go to save an item or download something, sure try sending those or that item to a new spot on your computer. When you get the download window to popup on your screen, use one two ways to change the spot to save it all in or at on your computer.

Okay so I just got my new HTC Touch today (just the regular one, not Diamond, Cruise, etc.) and I have a few questions:
1. How do I get to texting? The menu is really confusing me and I have no idea how to get to anything!
2. How do I fix the keyboard? I just want a normal keyboard with all the number and letters, and I don't want it small or anything if you know what I mean.
3. How do I download skins? Like to make it more like the iPhone if you know what I mean. I've seen people do it before.
4. How do I change my location for weather? My town isn't on there and when it said Orange and I clicked it, it said Orange, CA but I live in Orange, MA.

4. I'm still trying to figure that out. i have the same plug in on my htc phone, i was able to switch. email whenever i figure it out.

Please help me, I want my downloads from Limewire to go directly into my iTunes library when I download them. In Limewire, I have gone into:
Tools - Options - Saving - Save a folder - Browse... - My Computer - C drive (Local Disc, whatever) - Program Files - iTunes
Now what? If I save it there, nothing happens, I still have to copy and paste, or it says there is an error and I have to change the location of the saving folder!

In the iTunes help file it talks about the copy and paste issues you have with getting files into your library. This is NOT the whole of my solution to read it and then read what I add on.

When you import an item by dragging it to the iTunes window or choosing File %26gt; Add to Library, a reference (or ';pointer';) to the item攏ot the item itself攊s placed in the iTunes folder. You might not be able to play songs if you move them.
You can change this setting so that iTunes copies of all the items are placed in the iTunes folder.
To copy items to your iTunes folder when you add them to your iTunes library:
Choose Edit %26gt; Preferences and click Advanced.
Select the ';Copy files'; checkbox.
The next time you add an item to your library, iTunes places a copy of the file in your iTunes folder; the original file remains in its current location.

Now if you change that setting so that it copies files instead of creating pointers then you should be able to use the ';Add folder to library'; menu item under the file menu to add the music you've downloaded with limewire into your library without all the copying and pasting. Trying to download torrent - computer won't let me...Help!?
Just in the last few days, my computer won't let me download a torrent. I click on 'download torrent' and usually it comes up in a little download box in the corner (I have a PC), then I double click that and it opens up in BitTorrent. Now when it gets to the download box a message comes up saying ';torrentname. torrent could not be saved, because you can not change the contents of that folder. I downloaded a sim off the sims 2 website, how do i make it work?
so i dowloaded brigit, and i REALLY want her makeup and hair, or at least her! but she wont pop up, i put her in the dowloads, then i put her in collections, then i put her in saved sims. then i tried to change to extension (ex. .package .wav) YES I QUIT THE SIMS EVERY TIME I CHANGED LOCATIONS! i changed it to .packaged instead of .sims2package to make it the same format as the other things in that folder.

How do i synchronize my internal and external hard drive?
I've just bought an external hard drive. Would like to use it as a back up. I've downloaded SyncBack Freeware, as i had been recommended to do so. Call me stupid, i thought i just pick C-driver as source and E as destination. But i got a warning I shouldn't back up my system drive. Can somebody tell me how to do it instead. I want all my files on the external HD and want to make sure if i change anything later on my laptop it would be saved on the external drive. How does it work? What are profiles for and which one should i choose. Shall I make a back up profile first and synchronizing profile after or no need for both? How does synchronizing work, if i change the location of a file, will it change it on the external drive, or will it just copy to the location as well? How do I move the Azureus Downloads folder to a new location in Windows XP?
I have followed the directions on the Vuze website Help page but it doesn't work. In Tools %26gt; Options, I change the save directory for Torrents to a new location on a different file partition using the correct folderpath and delete the original ';Azureus Downloads'; folder in the My Documents folder in my profile folder in Documents and Settings on my C: drive. However when I re-open Vuze and download a new torrent, a new ';Azureus Downloads'; folder is created in the My Documents folder in my profile folder in Documents and Settings on my C: drive and the torrent saves to it instead of the folder I created on the D: drive.
Can anyone help because the C: drive partition is too small, and is too full, to cope with large torrent files.

How do I change the path so that I can get javac to work?
I have downloaded java JDK SE and would like to know how I can get it set up so that I can get my javac comand to work in the comand prompt. I have windows X. How to I change were iPod Apps are stored in iTunes?
My computer only has 2 GB left on its hard drive, but I have an external hard drive that's 320 GB. However, iTunes keeps adding the Apps I download to the computer's hard drive. I found in preferences an option to change the Media FIle location, but it only transfers one [empty] folder tiltled ';Automatically Add to iTunes';. I just started using iTunes this week and I forgot it saves the apps to the hard drive.
P.S. When I try actually copying and pasting and re-enter iTunes, it acts like there is no library because it dosent know were its files are,How to I change were iPod Apps are stored in iTunes?
Apps are virtual nothings in terms of file size. You need to get serious about deleting other larger file types in significant numbers, such as video and music. Back them up first. Learn more in your user guide, iTunes Help, FAQs, Tutorials and user forums.

I just had this issue for the first time today. Almost immediately after starting the download, it gave me this error. I had previously torrented things onto my external HD, so perhaps this might be part of the problem, but I don't know how to change the save location or the paths or whatever it is. Please help.

the music files automatically go into a shared folder. you dont have to move it. after you download a song, click the song and then just click explore and the folder where it is will automatically pop up with the song highlighted! its a very easy way so u dont have to change it. but if you really want to change it, just create a new folder that will be empty, then go to the folder where all your music is, highlight everything, and just copy and paste it all into the new folder. then u cant delete the old one. hope this helps!!! =]

It differs between applications. If you are downloading files using Firefox you need to click on the Tools menu, then Options and choose Always Ask Me Where to Save Files.
If you are using peer to peer software like Limewire or Utorrent then there are setting within the application where you can set the folder, and drive, that it downloads to.
If you want to move the files which you have downloaded to your C: drive you can simply create a folder on another drive and drag the files to the new folder.
You will need to have another drive to do this though.
Defragmenting tip: It's a good idea to defragment regularly, especially if you edit files a lot, e.g. every month. You will need 10-15% of the drive to be free for it to run efficiently.
Defragmenting will not clear additional space as it just puts all of the separate parts of a file next to each other (a little like completing a jigsaw puzzle), so Windows doesn't have to access lots of different parts of the disk to open one file. Well, first you did not say what other drives you have on your machine.
If you have a second hard drive, either internal or external, you can change the default setting for downloads to the second drive. I always create a folder called Downloads, and drop everything in there. :Make it easy to both find and to scan for viruses or spyware.
The default location can be changed by going into the preferences in your browser.
IF you do not have a second hard drive, but do have a DVD burner. You can take items you have on your C drive that you rarely use but want to keep, and move them onto the DVD drive. I would recommend that you use a third party burner software, like Nero or similar, at the burner software built into windows leaves a lot to be desired.
Move up to 4GB of data and files over to the DVD at once. Best to use DVD-R disks and not the DVD-RW. RW disks can be erased by accident, and do not hold up over time as well. When you do the burn, be sure to check the box/option to verify that the files were written correctly. Check the disk after you burn it to make sure things still play or open as before, but from the DVD instead of the C drive.
Now you can delete all the files you moved onto DVD from the C drive. Then repeat this process with the next 4GB of files.
Once you have moved, and deleted all the files you do not need regularly, you should defrag the C drive again. You now should have much more space.
If you are moving files to a second hard drive, by dragging and dropping into folders on the second drive, you will still need to delete the files from the C drive, and then defrag the drive.
If you do not have a second hard drive, you can purchase one for fairly reasonable prices. An external USB drive may work best, as you can then also use the drive to take files to another location. And access the files by plugging the drive into a USB port on a different computer.

IF you do not have more than one drive you can purchase an external Hard Drive from a retail outlet like Best Buy, Comp USA or any other store that sells tehm. They vary in size from 100G to 1 terrabyte now and cost anywhere from 30 dollars to several hundred. They hook up with a usb and do the same thing as your internal hard drive. You can move all the files you want to keep to the external thereby freeing up you PC's Internal Drive.
The reason your machine will not defrag is that the drive is too full from what you wrote. You need 15% free for the defrager to run.

If you want to move the files which you have downloaded to your C: drive you can simply create a folder on another drive and drag the files to the new folder.
You will need to have another drive to do this though.
Defragmenting tip: It's a good idea to defragment regularly, especially if you edit files a lot, e.g. every month. You will need 10-15% of the drive to be free for it to run efficiently.
Defragmenting will not clear additional space as it just puts all of the separate parts of a file next to each other (a little like completing a jigsaw puzzle), so Windows doesn't have to access lots of different parts of the disk to open one file. Well, first you did not say what other drives you have on your machine.
If you have a second hard drive, either internal or external, you can change the default setting for downloads to the second drive. I always create a folder called Downloads, and drop everything in there. :Make it easy to both find and to scan for viruses or spyware.
The default location can be changed by going into the preferences in your browser.
IF you do not have a second hard drive, but do have a DVD burner. You can take items you have on your C drive that you rarely use but want to keep, and move them onto the DVD drive. I would recommend that you use a third party burner software, like Nero or similar, at the burner software built into windows leaves a lot to be desired.
Move up to 4GB of data and files over to the DVD at once. Best to use DVD-R disks and not the DVD-RW. RW disks can be erased by accident, and do not hold up over time as well. When you do the burn, be sure to check the box/option to verify that the files were written correctly. Check the disk after you burn it to make sure things still play or open as before, but from the DVD instead of the C drive.
Now you can delete all the files you moved onto DVD from the C drive. Then repeat this process with the next 4GB of files.
Once you have moved, and deleted all the files you do not need regularly, you should defrag the C drive again. You now should have much more space.
If you are moving files to a second hard drive, by dragging and dropping into folders on the second drive, you will still need to delete the files from the C drive, and then defrag the drive.
If you do not have a second hard drive, you can purchase one for fairly reasonable prices. An external USB drive may work best, as you can then also use the drive to take files to another location. And access the files by plugging the drive into a USB port on a different computer.

IF you have more than one drive installed on your PC you can cut and paste from one drive to the other. IF you do not have more than one drive you can purchase an external Hard Drive from a retail outlet like Best Buy, Comp USA or any other store that sells tehm. They vary in size from 100G to 1 terrabyte now and cost anywhere from 30 dollars to several hundred. They hook up with a usb and do the same thing as your internal hard drive. You can move all the files you want to keep to the external thereby freeing up you PC's Internal Drive.
The reason your machine will not defrag is that the drive is too full from what you wrote. You need 15% free for the defrager to run.

I ve got this annoying horse racing software that requires me to download some updates to the bare drive c:/ ONLY. I've gone into firefox and changed my download options so its 'save to...' but when i try and do it to bare C:/ it says that 'this location is forbidden to download to. contact admin' or along those lines.
I have the admin password but the option to put it in isn't coming up. The whole thing was set up by my uncle who does PC set-up for corporate businesses and that must be why his put this password heavy admin system in, he just did it the way he usually does but its completely unnecessary on a home PC.

It could be a requirement of the software - I hate software too stupid to use alternate locations or com ports above 2 - or it could be a permissions problem. My hidden torrents are being found/accessed. I clear the player/download history but they are still found how?
I download the torrent, watch the torrent, rename the torrent and change the file type to something completely obscure (been doing this recently and it seems to be working) then finally hide it. I also clear the download and real player history, and move the files out of the designated download location. oh and I uncheck the little archive box so, theres that. wtf man? I dont wanna be paranoid no mo...the pr0n/movies I download can potentially be damaging, and I dont want them found anymore I know theyre being found because I see in the real player viewing history that theyve been watched or theyre altogether deleted in a greedy attempt to horde niggabytes. My guess is this person has figured out how to reveal hidden files, then they search the c drive for wmvs or avis or mpgs and shazzam theyre all there. Sounds easy, but unless you are a multi-national company you are unlikely to have access to international Proxy servers - and more than likely they are based in the U.S. anyway.

Your probably on a laptop and the D drive is for the system backup and that drive cannot have anything saved onto it or deleted. You need to make space on your C drive if you want to save it.

How do i synchronize my internal and external hard drive?
I've just bought an external hard drive. Would like to use it as a back up. I've downloaded SyncBack Freeware, as i had been recommended to do so. Call me stupid, i thought i just pick C-driver as source and E as destination. But i got a warning I shouldn't back up my system drive. Can somebody tell me how to do it instead. I want all my files on the external HD and want to make sure if i change anything later on my laptop it would be saved on the external drive. How does it work? you should only synchronize your DATA, not your programs.

you should only synchronize your DATA, not your programs.

When I first started using it the drive letter was F: and everything worked fine. I had to download some info onto a coworker's thumb drive and that's when it changed. I plugged his thumb drive in before I plugged my external hard drive in and every since the drive letter is G:. Well somehow your drive name in computer has changed.Now do onething when ever you try to run program whic earlier was instaled in f drive will search for f drive now window will show you to search manually then give window a path from browse option and it will run as usual.

How to change read-only folder attribute?
I'm trying to download a torrent with uTorrent and get a ';Torrent Error - Access is denied'; pop-up. No indexing program is running and this problem has never before occurred with my avast anti-virus on. Ports are properly forwarded etc.
